Morocco tour: from Marrakech to the Sahara : 7 nights

After breakfast you have plenty of time to explore the beautiful historic city on your own. Here you will see the famous Djemaa El Fna square, the medina with its maze of souks, the Sadian tombs, the Bahia Palace and the Koutoubia Minaret. Marvel at all the sights and imagine yourself in the fairy tale of 1000 and 1 nights!

The coming night you will stay at Hotel La Gazelle du Dades (or similar) In Marrakech you will be picked up from your hotel at 7:30 am and you will travel via the famous Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass to Dades Gorges. Along the way you will visit the Kasbahs of Aït-Ben-Haddou (approx. 3.5 hours' drive) and Ouarzazate with a local guide (approx. 3-hour visit). The Kasbahs of Aït-Ben-Haddou consist of a group of mud-built houses surrounded by high walls. The houses are close together within the defensive walls, which are reinforced by corner towers. Some houses are modest, others resemble small urban castles with high corner towers and the upper parts decorated with motifs in brick. After this 3-hour visit you travel further via the Palm Oasis of Skoura, through the Kalaat M'gouna valley of the roses to arrive at Dades Gorges. Tonight dinner is included at Hotel La Gazelle du Dades in Boumalne. Please note: the ride goes through mountainous areas and may therefore take longer than you expect, so take plenty of water with you

The upcoming night, you will spend the night in a simple tent in the Sahara Today you travel further to the Sahara. You will be picked up from the hotel at 8:00 AM and have 2 stops along the way. You admire the Valley of the 1000 Kasbahs, the Tifillate Oasis and various villages such as Tinghir, Rissani and Erfoud. Around 2:00 PM there will be a stop in Kalaat Mgouna where you can have lunch. You will then arrive in Merzouga around 5:00 PM where you will continue your journey by camel. After about 1 hour you will arrive at the overnight location where you will have the opportunity to see the beautiful sunset. You will stay the next night in a tent with a shared toilet (no shower). Tonight dinner at the tented camp where you will spend the night is included. Tip: take a small backpack with you. You cannot take your suitcase into the desert . Please note: the ride goes through mountainous areas and may therefore take longer than expected. Be sure to take enough water with you for the journey.

The next 2 nights you will stay at Riad ZANOUBA in Marrakech (or Similar ) Today you will admire the sunrise early in the morning, after which you will return to Merzouga by camel. From here the return journey to Marrakech starts around 8:30 am. A long drive of about 8 to 9 hours, but there are four stops along the way so you can admire the beautiful surroundings again. Around 2 p.m. you will have another lunch option in Kalaat Mgouna. You will arrive in Marrakech around 9:00 PM.

Today you can spend at leisure in Marrakech. You can still admire the highlights you missed during the first few days.

The transfer will be waiting for you at the hotel to take you to the airport for the return  home. Hopefully you will look back on a wonderful trip! NB! When an accommodation is no longer available, you will stay in a different, but equivalent accommodation.
